Privacy Policy — RankRadar
Last updated: 2026-07-02
RankRadar is a browser extension that helps you track where your own handle or
posts rank in TikTok and Instagram in-app search. We designed it to keep your
data on your device.
What the extension accesses
- Only pages you open yourself. The extension reads the contents of a
TikTok or Instagram search results page that you navigate to in your own
browser. It does not open pages, run searches, or browse in the background on
your behalf.
- It reads the publicly visible search results (handles, post/video links, and
their order) in order to compute a ranking position for the keywords you chose
to track.
What we store, and where
- Your tracked keywords and targets (the handles/URLs you enter) and your
settings are stored locally using
chrome.storage.local.
- Your recorded rank history (keyword, platform, target, rank, number of
results scanned, and a timestamp) is stored locally in your browser's
IndexedDB.
- All of this data stays on your device. RankRadar has no backend server,
no account, and no analytics. We do not transmit, sell, or share your data
with anyone.
What we do NOT collect
- No personal profiles of other users are stored. The extension only records a
numeric rank position for the targets you configured.
- No browsing history, no cookies, no keystrokes, no data from non-search pages.
- No third-party trackers or advertising SDKs.
Payments
The paid ("Pro") tier will be handled by a third-party payment provider
(ExtensionPay) at launch. Payment processing is subject to that provider's own
privacy policy. RankRadar itself does not receive or store your payment card
details.
Data deletion
You can delete all recorded rank history at any time from the dashboard
("Clear all data"), and remove tracked keywords from the settings page.
Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.
Permissions justification
storage — to save your keywords, settings, and rank history locally.
- Host access to
*.tiktok.com and *.instagram.com — so the content script
can read the search results on pages you open and show the rank banner.
