Privacy Policy — Listing Lint

Listing Lint is a browser extension that checks the listing and ad copy you are writing for marketplace-policy risks. It is built to keep your data on your own device.

What we collect

Nothing is sent to us. Listing Lint has no backend server and no analytics.

All processing — matching your text against the rule database — happens locally in your browser. The rule database is bundled inside the extension; no network request is made to check your text.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores the following in chrome.storage.local, on your device only:

• The platform your Free plan checks and your selected platforms in the popup.
• Your Anthropic API key, if you choose to enter one for AI rewrites.

You can clear all of it at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage from chrome://extensions.

The text you lint

The listing text, caption, or selection you check is read only to analyze it locally and show you findings. It is not transmitted anywhere, not logged, and not persisted after the popup/panel closes.

Optional AI "Rewrite safely" feature

This feature is off by default and only runs when you (a) add your own Anthropic API key and (b) click "Rewrite safely" on a finding. When you do, the relevant copy is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com) using your key, so Anthropic can generate a compliant rewrite. That request is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy. Listing Lint does not proxy, copy, or store these requests. If you never enter a key or never click "Rewrite safely," no data leaves your browser.

Billing (Pro subscription)

Pro subscriptions are handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which processes payments through Stripe. When you upgrade, ExtensionPay creates a subscription and reports back only whether your subscription is active — that active/inactive status is what unlocks Pro features. Card details are entered on Stripe's payment page and are never seen or stored by Listing Lint. See ExtensionPay's privacy policy. If you never upgrade, no billing data is created.

Permissions and why

• storage — save your settings and key locally.
• contextMenus — add the right-click "Lint selection" item.
• activeTab + scripting — lint a right-click selection on the page you're actively using, only when you invoke it.
• Host access to sellercentral.amazon.com, seller-us.tiktok.com, etsy.com — run the in-field linter on your own seller dashboards.
• Host access to api.anthropic.com — used only for the optional AI rewrite described above.
• Host access to extensionpay.com — lets ExtensionPay report your Pro subscription status back to the extension after you upgrade.

Children

Listing Lint is a tool for sellers and marketers and is not directed at children.
